Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT)

Medication-assisted treatment combines prescribed medication with clinical support to help adults recover from opioid and other substance use disorders. Treatment can reduce cravings and withdrawal symptoms, improve stability, and support continued recovery.

  • Individualized medication: Options may include buprenorphine products such as Suboxone and Sublocade, or naltrexone products such as Vivitrol, when clinically appropriate.

  • Integrated support: MAT may be coordinated with counseling, psychiatric care, recovery services, or our Reno Intensive Outpatient Program.

  • Ongoing monitoring: Our psychiatric providers monitor response, side effects, safety, and progress to adjust treatment based on each patient’s needs.
